The Somerville DPW Snow Removal Circus

What else could you call three dump trucks, four pickups, two gigantic wheel loaders, a skid-steer loader, and a rubber-tracked sidewalk plow scraping up every bit of heaped snow in Teele Square at the height of rush hour?

Nimbly navigating obstacles...

...so that people can finally enjoy ice-free sidewalks...

...for the day and a half before the next storm.

Awesome pics...

I dunno. I think Somerville is justifiably known as the Parking Ticket version of the third Reich, and I'd love to see someone firebomb Pat's towing, but at the same time, Medford hasn't done SHIT except make potholes bigger, and let snow collect on top of ice from the previous snow, on top of ice from the previous snow, so people are parking closer and closer to the middle of the street, and the sidewalks are a fucking mess. Glaciers are forming, I'm very thankful I have 4WD with the optional off road package, but at the same time... what the fuck.

Maybe Medford will use this to demand a bigger payoff from Tufts this year. I mean, they're already hitting up the school for annual payments plus fire details. What's next?
