Cambridge police (on foot) are ticketing bicyclists for running the stoplight at Mass Ave and Pleasant St. They got eight bicyclists for this while I was having lunch nearby, plus ticketed another for biking on the sidewalk in front of 7-11.
Ask Boston Alt Radio Legend and nut guy Peter Choyce, who thought bikes are immune to rules of the road, and tore up a one-way street (the wrong way, of course ...this is a Peter Choyce story.)
He was biked-down and knocked over.
Are you aware of the NYC RNC Crirtical Mass roundup? I was there. NYC enforces traffic law on bikes.
Try,if you like, a criminal indictment for resisting arrest.
Do I want to stop at lights? Muck no! But these are strange times.
Because Local Heroin Susan McLucas (one of my media clients) teaches riding to adults (and kids) she was on the Boston Glob's cover, NBC and CBS last month in bike-praise stories.
It's time to LOBBY LOBBY LOBBY for bike rights!!!
How about Mr. Cosmo gets out with a sign to warn other bikers what ahead at Central?
That would strike me as way cooler that making an irresponsible remark like that one.
Ticketed cyclists for running stoplights is a good thing! As a pedestrian, I've nearly been hit by a lot of cyclists who run stoplights, and this is with me in a crosswalk crossing when it says WALK.
Ironically, it's the often the same bike rights advocates who decry and protest cars not treating bikes as vehicles, who then go off and argue that they shouldn't be ticketed for running red lights, stop signs, and the like.

they can't get you if you don't stop.
On the other hand, they won't have to get you if you do stop.
Test that theory and let us know how much the second ticket is, too, Cosmo. Thanks.
They CAN'T?
What fantasy world in which does you lives?

Oh, I should explain.
I spell "heroine" without the "e" for tax purposes.
