Body Splattered on Congress Street in Soulless Southie

I really didn't want to be in a cab this morning, and when the Terminal A ATM turned out to be out of cash, I just took the Silver Line. In the glass and glitter part of Southie were many flashing lights, belonging to Boston, Massport, and State Police vehicles. In front of the building that Silver Line buses pass through, a lump under a white sheet with a spurt of escaped blood slowly drying on the dewdamp asphalt. What happened?

I work at the WTC building across the street. Rumor is that a security guard at the Manulife building jumped off the roof, but I haven't been able to find any news coverage. It's a sad situation and a lot of people like you and those of us who work down here saw some very troubling things this morning.

I now realize that it must have JUST happened between 6:45 and 6:55 because the driver on my Silver Line bus hadn't seen anything on the way out to Logan. The body was placed too far from the intersection and the blood was facing the wrong way for it to have been hit by a car. Also, no damaged car on the scene.

I work at 601 Congress Street. A security officer did commit suicide at 6:45am this morning. It is so crazy and upsetting to know that this took place in front of the building that we go to work at every morning. NOt to mention that we could possibly have known this guard. Its so unsettling.

Yes the rumor is true. The security guard was a 22 year old male, About 6:00AM this morning, he ran off the roof of the manulife building on he congress street side. I was at the scene at 6:30AM for a few minutes. I also heard he had a wife and kids.

It had to have been a suicide. As a former reporter, there is a code followed that basically stats that public suicides aren't covered. Not really sure why, but it's one of those hokey things.

I too work in the WTC buildings and was mildly shocked and humbled that at noon there was not a trace of the event. I started to question if it were just a rumor by the way the area seemed to maintain a being buisness as usual aire.
Wow. What a sad day at the Seaport.

Public suicides aren't covered because it encourages other people to do it.

They think "That man who killed himself by jumping in front of a train last week got so much attention" or some such guff. I have heard the same reasoning on why Bank Robberies are under reported. If the common man on the street knew how many go unsolved it would happen even more.

God rest this poor young mans soul! http://southiecab.com
